The United Nation says, "The food we eat, the air we breathe, the water we drink and the climate that makes our planet habitable all come from nature. Despite all the benefits that nature gives us, we still mistreat it. Thus, World Environment Day is the most renowned day for environmental action."
"In 2020, the theme is 'biodiversity' – a concern that is both urgent and existential. Recent events, from bushfires in Brazil, the United States and Australia to locust infestations across East Africa – and now, a global disease pandemic – demonstrate the interdependence of humans and the webs of life, in which they exist. The emergence of COVID-19 has underscored the fact that, when we destroy biodiversity, we destroy the system that supports human life.
Biodiversity is the foundation that supports all life on land and below water. Biodiversity is the variety and variability of life on Earth. To encourage awareness and environmental protection, iVolunteer organised an online campaign to provide the volunteers an opportunity for an enlightened opinion and responsible conduct in preserving and enhancing the environment.
Below are the poetic expressions of Volunteers who have taken 'Time for Nature' and have expressed their concern for the cause of the environment through these poems in their native languages. Read and be inspired!
